Waterlock DIY is the “install-it-yourself” micromesh system: a top-mount aluminum frame with stainless micromesh that filters fine debris while keeping water moving through the gutters. The key differentiator is the install geometry—front-edge fastening plus a hidden-hanger-compatible rear lock—so you get a stable cover with minimal screw count and no roof/shingle disturbance. The stainless micromesh is mechanically locked into the aluminum frame using Art of Gutter’s Z-Bend Technology, creating a secure, permanent bond with no loose screen fit, adhesives, or sealants—so it stays secure over time.
Waterlock DIY blocks leaves, pine needles, shingle debris, dirt, pollen, seeds, birds, pests, and small animals from entering your gutter system—while still handling the heaviest downpours and extreme conditions. Waterlock DIY uses a fine micromesh screen to block leaves, needles, and roof grit, while the frame’s 0.78" wide flow slots keep water moving fast through the system. The mesh naturally “breaks up” heavy rain so water can drop through more evenly instead of blasting and bouncing over the gutter edge, helping reduce overflow in downpours.
Waterlock DIY is designed for quick, hassle-free installation. Simply align the front edge of the guard with the front edge of your gutter, while the back edge sits flush against the inside back wall of the gutter so the guard lays flat on top. Secure each section with 3–4 screws along the front edge only—and for a faster, easier install, we include self-tapping zip screws, so you don’t need any special fasteners. The guard is supported by your existing hangers, and there’s no need to lift shingles or modify the roof, helping maintain your roof warranty. Fits 6" residential or commercial gutters, including K-Style and box gutters, and works with metal, flat, or shingle roofs. The only gutter style that is incompatible with Waterlock DIY is half round gutters.
Tip: pre-drilling is typically not required, but a small pilot hole can help on very hard or older gutters for faster, cleaner placement.
