Homeowner Guarantee
Art of Gutter, Inc. stands behind every gutter guard we make. This page
is the full warranty. It applies whether a contractor installs your
guards or you install them yourself following our installation guide,
and no registration is required. Keep your proof of purchase; that is
the only document you need.
Lifetime Performance Warranty
Art of Gutter warrants that, for the term below, your Waterlock gutter
guards will be free of defects in materials and workmanship. Specifically:
- The aluminum body and frame (copper on Copper products) will not rust
or corrode through under normal outdoor exposure.
- The stainless steel micromesh on aluminum products, and the brass mesh
on Copper products, will not rust or corrode through.
- On painted products, the factory finish will not peel, crack, chip or
blister. Mill Finish aluminum and natural copper carry no finish or
color coverage. Copper develops a patina over time; that is normal and
not a defect.
- Installed and maintained as described below, the guards will keep your
gutters free-flowing under normal rainfall on standard residential
roof pitches.
Warranty Coverage Duration
Lifetime, up to 35 years. "Lifetime" means the service life of the roof
the guards were installed under, or 35 years from the date of purchase,
whichever comes first. Coverage ends when that roof is replaced, when
the guards are removed from the home, or 35 years after purchase. It is
not tied to any one person or to how long you own the home.
Who It Covers
The original purchaser and every later owner of the home, for the
remainder of the term. The warranty transfers automatically. There is no
transfer fee and no form to file. The new owner simply keeps the
original proof of purchase.
Installation
This warranty is valid when the guards are installed according to the
Art of Gutter installation guide supplied with the product, by a
contractor or by you. Installation that departs from the guide voids
the warranty.
Conditions For Free-Flow Promise
The free-flow promise applies only where the gutter system itself is
sound. At installation the gutters must be clean, properly sloped and in
good repair, with downspouts and drains clear and any downspout screens
removed. This condition applies to the free-flow promise only. Coverage
of the material and finish does not depend on maintenance.
Recommended Care
Waterlock guards need very little attention. We recommend rinsing the
front edge with an ordinary garden hose a few times a year, more often
where cottonwood, tree tassels, sap or resin are common, and looking the
guards over now and then for debris, loose screws or damage. This is a
recommendation, not a condition. Skipping it does not void the warranty,
but damage caused by debris left in place is not covered.
What Is Not Covered
- Installation that does not follow the guide.
- Alteration, bending or denting, including damage from ladders leaned
on the gutters or from foot traffic.
- Painting, coating or sealing the mesh or perforations in a way that
restricts water flow. The frame may be painted, but field-applied
coatings are not covered.
- Severe weather and acts of God: hurricane, tornado, hail, lightning,
earthquake, flood, ice dams and ice loading, falling limbs and fire.
- Galvanic corrosion from contact with dissimilar metals, chemical
pollutants or salt spray.
- Pre-existing gutter, roof or structural faults, building settlement or
poor attic ventilation.
- Normal weathering and fading, and the natural patina of copper.
- Clogging, overflow or standing water caused by accumulated leaves,
needles, shingle grit, seeds, nests or other debris, and any damage
from debris left unaddressed.
- Overflow in rainfall beyond the capacity of the gutter and downspout
system.
- Products bought through unauthorized resale channels or moved to a
different property.
- Labor, removal, reinstallation and any incidental or consequential
damages.
Our Commitment If Something Fails
If a guard fails to meet this warranty, Art of Gutter will repair or
replace the affected sections at no charge for the product. If repair or
replacement is not practical, we will refund the original purchase price
of the affected product instead. This is the sole remedy under the
warranty. It covers the product only, not the labor to remove or
reinstall it.
How To File a Warranty Claim

receipt), the installation address and photos of the problem, or call or
text (973) 227-0717. We may ask for a closer look at the affected
sections. Claims are handled by shipping replacement product; we do not
provide on-site service. Written claims can be mailed to Art of Gutter,
Inc., 118 Kolb Ct., Tobyhanna, PA 18466.
Proof of Purchase
Your order confirmation, invoice or receipt from Art of Gutter or from
an authorized retailer or dealer is all you need. Installers of our products may provide you with an order number as proof of purchase.
Legal Terms
This is the only express warranty Art of Gutter gives on its gutter
guards. Any implied warranty, including merchantability and fitness for
a particular purpose, is limited to the term of this warranty. Art of
Gutter's total liability will not exceed the original purchase price of
the affected product, and Art of Gutter is not liable for incidental,
consequential, special or punitive damages. Some states do not allow
limits on how long an implied warranty lasts or the exclusion of
incidental or consequential damages, so these limits may not apply to
you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have
other rights that vary from state to state. No employee, dealer or agent
may change or extend this warranty except in writing signed by an
officer of Art of Gutter, Inc. This warranty is governed by the laws of
the State of New Jersey.
